High Heat Sealants
Pres-Seal:
Pres-Seal is a general purpose high heat
sealant often used to seal in gasses in a variety of industrial applications. It has the consistency of a tough putty and can be worked into those spaces that may otherwise prove difficult. Previously many of our customers used to use a product called High Heat Dum Dum for this purpose, but the manufacturer stopped producing this some time ago. We believe that Pres-seal is a suitable alternative but with a wider variety of applications.
Silver Seal II:
Silver Seal II is a fibrous paste sealant used for sealing rough or irregular joints of turbines, boilers, heat exchangers, compressors, pumps, blowers, piping, ducting, process furnaces, paint ovens, or any high temperature/pressure metal to metal joint, or can be used as a gasket dressing. During joint assembly, sealant will flow into rough or irregular surfaces to provide a durable seal. Silver Seal II expands under heat and cures to a leathery consistency, and will not crack due to thermal cycling or vibration. Joint disassembly is easy as the sealant does not excessively harden which allows for quick separation.
Flat Glass Gauge Consumables:
Gauge maintenance procedures recommended that gauge glass 
consumables are always purchased as a kit and replaced simultaneously. Doing so, will, ensure that you have the correct components for the temperature and pressure of your boiler, protect the manufacturers guarantee and optimize the service life of these wear parts. Each kit includes the components required to service a single section of gauge. Hence:
- A repair kit for a Flat Glass Boiler Gauge includes: 2 Plain Gauge Glasses, 2 Micas, 2 Sealing Gaskets and 2 Cushion Gaskets.
- A repair kit for a Prismatic (Reflex) Boiler Gauge includes: a single Reflex Glass, , a Sealing Gasket and a Cushion Gasket.
- Where process gauges require a special protective shield, such PCTFE (formally called Kel-F), this item should be purchased separately from the kit. The shield will then be used on the wetted side of the Gauge Glass in place of the Sealing Gasket.
Tubular Sight Glasses:
Borosilicate Glass tubes have no standard length. Generally, it is considered good practice for any given application to keep these as short as possible. This is because as the glass gets longer it becomes more vulnerable to breakage which is environmental and not duty related. We will therefore cut these glasses to length, as required.
